Hello and welcome to my site.  My name is David Jarrett and I'm a writer.  In time I hope to be a published author.  I write fiction because I enjoy telling a story, and because I think that  important personal. social, and political  issues can be treated in a novel (as long as accurate research is done) just as well as they can in a non-fiction work. 

I have already concluded one successful career, and as you can probably tell from my picture, I'm a little old to be starting another, but what the hell?  I always promised myself I'd be a novelist, and I'm going to give it my best shot.  I'm not interested in writing anything but full-length novels -- ambitious, you say, for an "Un" (Unpublished and Unagented) -- but I just don't have the time to screw around and develop  slowly. 

As you can also probably tell from the pictures, I like it best when I'm outdoors, and most of my writing will reflect that.  No urban fantasy, no paranormal -- mostly stories about people that could be real, like you or me, but in situations that many of us never experience -- and usually the outdoors will play a prominent role.  My first novel, THE BEAR AND THE DARKNESS,  is complete after several rewrites and ready for submission.
